The Making of an Artifact

From Idea to Artifact

Every Trillobeat piece moves through the same journey before it reaches your hands — from a first idea to a finished object you can wear for years. Here's what that journey actually looks like, step by step.

01 — Concept & Vision

It starts with an idea — a symbol, a concept, a fragment of meaning that hasn't yet found its shape. That idea takes form first as a vision: an inner image of what the piece could become, its structure, its character, before it ever touches a screen or a tool.

02 — Digital Sculpting

The vision becomes a digital sculpture. This is where the fine detail happens — texture, depth, the complex organic forms that would be nearly impossible to carve by hand alone. Every curve and surface is shaped here before it ever touches metal.

03 — Prototyping

The digital model is prepared and printed as a precise wax or resin pattern — the exact shape that will guide the casting process. This step has to be exact: any flaw here carries through to the final piece.

04 — Casting

The pattern is invested and cast in sterling silver or gold using the lost-wax method — one of the oldest jewelry techniques there is, paired with the new shapes digital sculpting makes possible. This is the moment the piece actually becomes metal.

05 — Cleaning & Filing

Fresh from casting, a piece is rough — sprues and casting marks need to be removed by hand, edges refined, and the form cleaned up before it's ready for finishing.

06 — Polishing

Hand polishing brings out the final surface — the contrast between high-shine highlights and oxidized recesses that gives Trillobeat pieces their depth and shadow.

07 — Stone Setting

For pieces with gemstones, the stone is set by hand once the metalwork is finished — secured, aligned and checked before final inspection.

08 — Final Quality Control

Every piece is checked by hand before it ships — fit, finish, stone security, surface quality. Only then is it ready to leave the studio.

From Our Hands to Yours

Every Trillobeat piece passes through real hands at every one of these steps — there's no shortcut version. That's part of what you're holding when you wear one.
